Suzy stayed alittle over a week in my room. She wasn’t rude as some people say the French are. She was fun. She showed me Greenwich which I’m totally in love with. We also ate together acouple of times. She’s now in Bristol, but we still communicate through email and we maybe getting together in the coming weeks.

You just have to like a guy who would show around his city for 4 to 5 hours. How cool is that?

I’m In København (Copenhagen)

May 17, 2008 · Leave a Comment

So I arrived this morning at 5:25am and boy was I tired. Today I just wanted to climb into bed and throw the covers over my head, but of course I couldn’t. First I had to find my hostel and again someone had to show me the way. I’ll be posting about him later but he got me safely to my hostel. From there I found out that my bed wouldn’t ready until noon. WHAT THE HECK!!!!!

So what do I do for 5-6 hours? Well, Jens (thats his name) volunteered to be my tour guide and he was such a great guide. He showed me all around København (Copenhagen). From the planetarium to the library, from the theater to the movie plexs, and from clothing stores to the amusement park. He showed me so much and told me of some places to see. We even took a walk through Hc Ørsted Parken (a park) and it was wonderful. Did I find a guide or what?

I Arrived!

May 14, 2008 · 1 Comment

I’m in Amsterdam. I arrived this morning and I’m so not buslagged. I have so much energy. One of the first things you notice when you get to Holland are all the people riding bicycles. I heard about the rentals but its like an epidemic. Their everywhere. You can’t turn around without seeing a bicycle. So not only are you checking for buses, cars, scotters and trams, but you also watching out for bicyclists. Its so funny.

I Went Home On Friday

May 14, 2008 · 1 Comment

Yes, on Friday I went to Bedford: the place of my birth and it was great. I took the First Capital train early in the morning and I got back by 5:00pm. The ride through the countryside was beautiful. Lots of greenery. I just relaxed and did alittle reading.

When I arrived, it felt like I was home. I didn’t cry but i did feel somewhat emotional. I’ve been wanting to visit Bedford since I was young. It wasn’t at all what I thought it would be. The area was very nice looking. I decided to walk to the tourist office for Bedford, which led me to the city centre. The area was bubbling with excitement. Seriously, it was. I walked from one end to the other. My walk along the river embankment was great. I have video of these beautiful, big swans. So, check it out.

I went to the Bedford Museum which tells bit of the history of Bedford. It also houses different historical artifacts that were found in Bedford. It was really nice. I didn’t take any pictures though. It would have taken too long. I did listen to the story of how the biggest aircraft of the UK was created in Bedford. It was a Blimp (R101) and the story ended in tragedy.

After the museum, I went back through the city centre. There were so many interesting shops, that I actually bought something for a friend. I left Bedford alittle sad but very excited about the possibility of coming back. I think I will return for the full weekend.
