Victoria and Albert

I made a 2nd trip to the V&A this week and I must say it wasn’t great. Not the art in the museum, but the fact that the museum’s AC wasn’t working. It was awful. First the AC on the District Line Tube wasn’t working, so my head started hurting. Finally we got to Kensington Station and I was able to breathe fresh air. It was WONDERFUL. I walked abit then got some lunch. After lunch I was feeling better, but then I headed to the V&A and boy was I in for a shock. NO AC. I couldn’t believe it. Of all the days to be without AC. So I’m in a stuffy museum with a slight headache (that eventually grows) trying to enjoy the exhibits. I didn’t last long, but I did take acouple of nice pictures.

Cigarette And Filter Warnings
August 3, 2008 · Leave a Comment
When I first got to the UK the differences were startling. Everything was different and that was a good thing. Who wants to see the same thing on two different continents. Anyway, one thing that I notice right away was the warning messages on cigarettes and filter packages. The US smoker warning labels are on the side and their at like 3 pt. You can barely make it out. Not so with the UK. The warning signs here are in your face; you can’t help but notice them. When you see a message like: Smoking Causes Impotence, it makes you stop dead in your tracks. Does it make people stop smoking? I don’t know, but you can’t fault the UK for trying.
